Ambiguitas Sebagai Strategi Penguatan Femininitas dalam Novel Looking For Alaska (Kajian Dekonstruksi)/Ambiguity as a Strategy for Emphasizing Femininity in the Novel Looking for Alaska (A Deconstructionist Study)

Keywords: Literature

Abstract

The novel Looking for Alaska uses ambiguisty as a strategy to reinforce the feminity of the main character. Overt expressions of feminism are not used to emphasize this aspect of the character. Instead, her feminity is developed implicitly, through the use of ambiguity. This analysis, based on the approach of Derrida and others, describes the way in which concepts of feminity are expressed and attributed to the character through strategies embodied in the linguistic and narrative structures.
